Burnaby Hotels - The main difference between a hotel and what a resort offers is in regards to their location, the amenities and activities offered on-site and what services overall they offer. Like for instance, a resort is normally more spread out over more land than most typical hotels. There are usually much more activities offered to the customers because of the additional space. Additionally, resorts generally offer a lot more guest discounts and on and off-site freebies. Though a hotel and resort seem to be the same, there are certain reasons why customers choose to stay at one instead of the other.

Some resorts have such a substantial amount of property that they have the extra space available for such extreme features such as a golf course. The resorts often have more rooms available for the customers as well. Normally the property of a resort is near or on some kind of natural landscape, such as an oceanfront resort. Usually, hotels have just an adequate amount of land for the parking lot and the building. The majority of hotels are located on a main thoroughfare also, so that it is easy for traveling patrons to pull in and find accommodation. In addition, with hotels being centrally located, hotel guests to have access to all of the activities within the area.

The kinds of amenities that every resort or hotel may differ widely because it is common for a hotel to support a pool or a fitness center. If there are any kinds of restaurant at all, a hotel can have a restaurant or small kitchen available, while a resort often has about 2 lounges or restaurants and room service. Such activities as a spa, a computer area, dancing, live music and golf and tennis are among the popular activities which happen on a resort.

Another major difference between a hotel and a resort is how many freebies or discounts one can offer over another. Typically, a hotel offers breakfast, Wi-Fi access and a free newspaper. Resorts however, provide all of that and usually much more. Frequently, resorts offer free shuttle service going to and coming from the airport. Resorts normally have discounts provided for eateries off and on the premises and discounted tickets to tourist spots nearby.

Resorts are normally at a vacation spot and not geared towards business travelers. Many who come to stay at a resort, do so for all the freebies that the resort may provide. These people are quite often looking for a place to relax, to escape and to get away from their busy lifestyles. Hotels are truly terrific places to offer rest for their guests, but individuals who stay in a hotel are normally only there for business conferences or business meetings.
